Working With a Digital Agency: What to Expect in Week 1

The first week sets the tone. Here’s what a transparent agency does — and what they need from you.

Day 1: Kickoff

  • Goals alignment — What does success look like? Lead volume, conversion rate, organic traffic?
  • Scope confirmation — What’s in, what’s out, what’s phase 2?
  • Access and tools — Analytics, CMS, hosting, domain. Get these ready before kickoff.

Days 2–3: Discovery

  • Audit — Current site performance, SEO baseline, conversion paths.
  • Content inventory — What exists, what’s worth keeping, what gets rewritten.
  • Stakeholder map — Who approves what? Who provides content?

Days 4–5: First Deliverables

  • Findings summary — What we found, what we’ll fix first.
  • Sprint plan — Week-by-week for the next 4–6 weeks.
  • Blockers — Anything we need from you to proceed.

No black boxes. You should see work in progress by the end of week 1.
